How You Become a Registered Apprentice

To be considered an apprenticeship candidate for the Registered Apprenticeship Program:

Student must complete and submit an application form.

Printable Form or You may email it.

Student must be 16 years of age before they participate in the on-the-job training component.

Student must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Student cannot have more than 5 days of unexcused absence during the first semester of the year of application to the program.

Student must have completed Algebra I with a "C" or better.

Student must interview with dealership representatives.

 

How You Successfully Complete the Program

As part of the commitment to this program, you are required to:

maintain status as full-time student and part-time employee

enroll in an approved two-year Associate Degree program  or Manufacture training in Automotive  Technology after high school graduation

work 12-30 hours during school year and 30-40 hours in the summer

complete 6000 hours of on-the-job training over a period of 5 years with sponsoring dealership

maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average while completing high school requirements

receive a Grade of "C" or Manufacture equivalent or better in all post-secondary course requirements

receive satisfactory rating on all Semi-annual evaluations

must take and pass 4 ASE certifications

must satisfactorily complete all apprenticeship requirements within 5 years from start of program
